Fall Talks!

I was happy to get out and about this fall to peddle my wares, as it were. I first went to the Association for Business Communication conference in Tulsa, OK, where I presented “Gen Z Entrepreneurs’ Expectations of AI in Their Career Path” on behalf of myself and Kristen Getchell. The summary of the talk was:

People born between 1994 and 2001 (part of Generation Z) are in the early stages of entering the workforce. This presentation explores the communication  and career expectations of this group of professionals surrounding the emerging technology of artificial intelligence based on a survey of entrepreneurship students.

-Carradini & Getchell, 2024

I presented to a large audience who had some incisive questions. Thanks to all who asked questions, especially those that were hard for me.

I also contributed to many events during the hybrid conference. As 2024 chair of the Research Committee, I convened and moderated the virtual and in-person Three Minute Research Pitch sessions (which were incredibly fun and exciting!). In the same capacity, I convened the virtual and in-person Research Roundtable events; I moderated in the in-person version. Thank you to Veronica Rice McCray for moderating the virtual Research Roundtable!

As a member of the Graduate Studies committee, I contributed to the wildly successful Speed Networking Panel for Graduate Students and Job Seekers (thank you to the 15 senior scholars who participated!) and the In-Progress Research Session.

After the conference, I spoke back home in Chandler, AZ at the ASU Chandler Innovation Center as part of the Transferable Skills Workshop Series. I spoke on “Social Media for Business: Going from 0 to 60.” The participants were eligible to get a badge as a part of a new microcredentialing process within my college. It was a really great time! I enjoyed working with the City of Chandler very much, and look forward to doing it again in the future.
